Teknowhow

Teknowhow – is about connecting the links-to-Learning (LTL) Community to creative, engaging web-based technologies and community eLearning capability.

The Project Aims
– Focus on capability building on 3 levels:

* eLeaders capacity building – via our network of LTL regional group leaders driving eLearning within their region

* Partnership building – Connecting with local eLearning/technology capability and expertise (eg Community Technology Centres Association NSW)

* Skills building – 90 LTL projects across NSW that involve youth community workers and disengaged young people.

Partnerships & Connections

* Links-to-Learning Community (5 regional groups, 10 eLeaders, 90 projects and 4000 young people)

* TAFE NSW Sydney Institute

* Powerhouse Museum

* Community Technology Centres Association NSW

* Other eLearning communities (eg Byron Youth Services)

Brief reflection on the achievement of our project outcomes to date;

* Developed and refined 4 Powerhouse Museum Music & Video modules, specifically for application to the LTL project activity contexts

- Module 1: Music Remixer
- Module 2: CD Cover Design
- Module 3: Music Video Producer
- Module 4: Digital Storytelling

* Mapped these modules to Training Package outcomes

- CUF01 Film Television Radio & Multimedia Training Package
- CUS01 Music Training Package
- CUV03 Visual Arts, Craft and Design Training Package

* Liaised with Shane Dowd, NSW Toolbox Champion, to deliver customised Toolbox workshop sessions for eLeaders and for Regional Groups

* Established a web forum for LTL community which allows ease of sharing of success stories, eLearning resources/activities and other relevant information both within each Regional Group and across the entire LTL community

* Delivered the eLeaders 2-days TEKNOWHOW workshop at the Powerhouse Museum on 14-15 August

* Delivered 5 TEKNOWLOW Regional Group workshops around NSW during September

* Promoted the LTL network and partnership possibilities via the Community Technology Centres (CTC) Association communication networks and by presenting at their annual conference at Macquarie University on the 19 September (CTC centre mangers were also invited to attend regional workshops)

* Confirmed to showcase this project in Links-to-Learning forum in March 2007

* Currently working on range of activities including

- Producing a digital story presentation for the Learnscope showcase in October
- Developing a TEKNOWHOW poster for above event
- Developing a TEKNOWHOW wiki to highlight outcomes of individual activity
