Artist Statement

In collaboration with author and poet Daniel Oxenburgh, the ‘Quicksilver’ exhibition and book in 2008 brings illustrations and poetry together in a compelling union. Where prose falls off the vivid interpretations in visual form builds an evocative framework of dreamscapes and lived experience. Dedicated to the late artist David Gregson, the foreword written by Professor Ted Snell indicates that collaborations are by no means unique until they join in with the larger landscape of the global discussion, where what matters and counts is also re-counted when the entropy and dystopia we encounter in life that horrifies and numbs our aesthetic sense meaning-making balanced with the beauty and the sublime.
