Summary
The primary focus of the Project Consultant was to engage stakeholders, establish technical project parameters, determine social media engagement and project funding negotiations for the Laudato Si Project. Stakeholders identified as to be included were the Catholic Church, Broome Chamber of Commerce and the University of Notre Dame.
Outcomes
Oethica Group Productions were involved in multiple consultations over the year project period with members of the Notre Dame University, staff at the Nulungu Institute, representatives of the Broome Chamber of Commerce and a number of cultural leader contacts in Broome. We produced a short film about the cultural history of Anne Street and we were involved in a number of face-to-face events in the leadup to what was promised would be a considerable venture the ‘The Laudato Si’. The mission statement for the project is “… To restore humanity's connection to the natural world through faith, education, stewardship, and recreation”. The main protagonist through which all aspects of the Broome Notre Dame University Laudato Si initiative was reportable was Bishop Christopher Saunders, who a few short years later paradoxically has issues of his own to answer - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-19/no-prosecution-of-broome-bishop-over-sex-misconduct-allegations/100146206
