“… Local artists Graham Hay, Alexander Hayes, Diokno Pasilan and Soffia Scarano present sculpture, prints and textiles exploring cultural displacement. Graham Hay has built a reputation for paperclay and large paper sculpture. Alexander Hayes has developed a series of print based wall sculptures in response to working with Aboriginal communities. Diokno Pasilan is a Filipino artist who now resides in Perth. His new work focuses on post colonialism. Soffia Scarano explores the personal experiences of cultural displacement through the measurement of time. The four artists are members of the Wellman Street Artist's Studio, in Perth, Western Australia hence the exhibition title. The exhibition will run from the 11th December through till 18th December 1999”.
