Today I presented at the Public Interest Technology University Network, which is a partnership that unites 36 colleges and universities, and that is working to address these very issues by building the nascent field of public interest technology and growing a new generation of civic-minded technologists.
I spoke of the ‘Kalara’ principles and framework for working with communities in a filmic context and I also spoke of the various ways that Ngikalikarra (listening) emanates from Country, useful for generations of technologists who fail to include this important skill in their empathetic toolkit.
