Socioethical Value

This morning I read a post from ‘Section Economics of Wageningen University or @Econ_WU in Twitter which showcases ‘Figure 6: Graphical representation of the iterative process to develop systems-shaping solutions, from bottom-up innovation to systems-shaping solutions’.

I find this visual schematic helpful as informing further what it is that occurs with the co-design and creative process as artists, filmmakers, and researchers with Oethica Group Productions and our previous works with Ngikalikarra Media. This figure outlines the ripple effect from the inclusion of social entrepreneurial practice yet, I feel it negates the centrality of Country, place-centeredness as the core foci for developing socioethical value.

As for the beneficiaries of responsible innovation the Kalara and Ngikalikarra models bring forward further considerations given Country as a centrality for the diffusion of innovation, ensuing collective action and enrolling key stakeholders as they “… develop, implement and scale their disruptive solutions, implement best practice, integrate cultural values and strategies.”

We honour and respect that these two (2) models were developed over a decade of interaction with Aboriginal communities across Australia, particularly when in communications with the Nyikina, Djugun and Yawuru communities in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, most recently with the Martuwarra Fitzroy River Council.
