In late 2013 the researcher spent three long months working unpaid as an intern with the Augmate Corporation based in New York City, United States of America. The researcher had met the CEO, Pate Wassel at the ISTAS13 event in Toronto, Canada, and through many early morning web conferences from Canberra, Australia an agreement to represent the company as ‘Business Development Manager, Asia’ and the contract was drawn up.

As a company intern the researcher presented at '2013 EyeQ SkillsTech' in Queensland, Australia, and also 'ISMAR 2013' at the University of Adelaide, South Australia.
