Artist Statement

In the year 2000, when we were told the end of humanity was near and that the Internet would collapse, Perth artist Rob Muir, artist Diokna Pasilan and myself began experimenting with audio plunderphonics and creating digital works mixed with performance. Upon invitation acceptance, with consent, we engaged a young woman artist Katrina Dunn to ‘model’ aspects of the performance, and in the company of her Father, we created a number of short audiovisual works which were later used in a studio setting performance and online aggregation. This image is the cover from the VHS box which we were shooting in at the time in grainy, low resolution. This ‘Body of Works’ series performances were an integral component of completion for the Painting 392 unit at the School of Art, Curtin University under Ben Joel, Painting Coordinator, also with tutorage by Harry Hummerston, Doug Shearer, and Michael Iwanoff.
