Artist Statement

Building upon the concepts explored during Creative Doctoral programme that I’d engaged with the year prior, I approached the Goldfields Arts Centre in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia regarding a possible venue to further the dimensions of the Project 44 concept. My application for submission was successful and the project proceeded till the I struck financial difficulties and the project was put on hold. The main lesson I learned through this project proposal process was the manner in which commercial galleries and large institutions operate, sharpening my resolve to find other means to sustain my creative habits without losing 60% commission plus on costs. In this case a full audiophonic soundscape and immersive installation featuring the explosive works of fellow artist Tim Burns was proposed.
