The restored Darlington Hall will be put to good use early next month when an art exhibition will be held on the hall's mezzanine level. The exhibition will feature textiles and paintings by Alexander Hayes and Dimity Gregson, who have both won prizes for their creative works. Alex is studying an honours degree in art and educational technology at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. Dimity, who grew up in Darlington, is studying visual arts with a major in textiles at Edith Cowan University. This will be their first exhibition together, although Dimity has exhibited at Edith Cowan and Alexander has taken part in several group and solo exhibitions. as well as serving as an artist-in-residence in Queensland. Both artists are looking forward to exhibiting in the hall. Their exhibition will open on August 7. On August 8 and 9, it will be open from 11 AM to 5 PM.
