Position
The role of ‘Art Educator’ encompassed many different modes and mediums, following a ‘maker’ pedagogy where the role of the artist was collaborative (all ages), inclusive (all skills and abilities), and diverse (multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary). I worked as an Arts Educator with the ‘Art Club’ at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery right throughout the completion of my B.Ed. (Primary Education) supplementing my meager income as a fledgling artist. This was a thoroughly enjoyable job and I had the pleasure of working under the management of Maggie Buchanan, a brilliant artist and lovely friend who we all lost to cancer too early in her life.
Outcomes
Setup, pulldown, and adjust artist workshop settings
Ordering, acquisition, and storage of art resources
Facilitated weekly classes with children on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
