Position
As a casual Art Educator with the Shire of Harvey, I was engaged to facilitate short-term, holiday art programs with children in public venues, the Shire of Harvey foyer, and the forecourt of the Australind Shopping Center. The arts program focussed on engaging children in sculptural activities using recycled cardboard from the local retail stores who also contributed to the exhibition and display of the children's completed 3D works in their retail establishment. The program was a great success and further programs were developed along with the same themes in surrounding shopping complexes as a result.
Outcomes
Established retail stakeholder inclusion in the design and display of artworks
Facilitated 3D sculptural art tutor activities with children (and their accompanying parents)
Art exhibition of children’s artworks in retail establishments and Shire Council building.
