Twixt States

Artist Statement

Nature has a way of presenting us with the most exquisite sensations which expand the way we can relate in life, much like music opens out our way of hearing our way forward in life. When the visual moniker is stripped of its colour and we are presented with the black and white (and greys) of these scenes our interpretation of these can differ markedly to the sensations we experienced in colour. The ‘Twixt States’ collection brings forward those liminal spaces in between colour and hue I was experiencing at the time as a resident of Canberra Australia.

Further Details

This series of works was created in the period from mid 2014 through to early 2015. At the time I was pushing everything to the limit including my health and on a regular basis took photographs of the ‘fake’ lake in Canberra, Australia. At the time I was living in Kingston at the time my running regularly around the lake was my "processing" the changes in my life at the time.
