Charles Sturt
In February 2010 the researcher drove from Orange NSW Australia through to Wagga Wagga, NSW Australia to meet with Professor Michael Keppel who was at that time resident at Charles Sturt University.
In a short yet seminal meeting the researcher was listened to then handed a book titled ‘Pasteur’s Quadrant: Basic Science and Technological Innovation’ by Donald E. Stokes with advice that the ‘actual versus perceived’ uses of BWC as being on a slippery slope and awareness which would hopefully arise through the research project would avail some truths about it all.
“… I recall leaving the meeting and driving the 440 kilometres home thinking how deeply disappointing the meeting was, yet, many years later this would prove to be one of the most important ‘chunks’ of information and feedback needed to guide the research inquiry.”
