In this role, I facilitated an integrated ‘off-campus’ graffiti art project and related life-skills program in conjunction with the Swan City Youth Services youth workers and center staff. In sum total, fifty-six (56) people between the ages of 15 and 21 years of age attained varying levels of certification over a two (2) year period predominantly through the General Education for Adults (CGEA) that was auspiced through Midland TAFE College, Perth, Western Australia.

The Bachelor of Arts (Art) through the Curtin University of Technology, Perth Western Australia was newly made available in an online distance education mode through Open Learning Australia ( now Open Universities Australia) in conjunction with the School of Art, Curtin University of Technology.

This role required extensive travel between each jurisdiction and office location for which I was assigned the use of a car and mobile phone (which were only just emerging as a work-assigned tool).

Cloudstreet is a novel by Australian writer Tim Winton published in 1991. It chronicles the lives of two working-class families, the Pickles and the Lambs, who come to live together in a large house called Cloudstreet in Perth over a period of twenty years, 1943 to 1963.

This employment role was a seminal transition from teaching into a professional mode as an artist, enabling me to concentrate on artwork creation and production and to continue my studies at Curtin University.

This was a tough (brilliantly awakening) assignment as I worked with three (3) Aboriginal Noongar families and four (4) children aged between 12 and 17 years of age supporting their academic skills program catering to their individual needs

In early 1995 I was approached by Dr. Trish & Dr. John Sherwood, as well as Terry & Dr. Sandra Wooltorton as an undergraduate to consider teaching at the Bunbury Community School which was being established in Prosser Street, Bunbury Western Australia.

Each and every child I worked with as an Academic Tutor with the Department of Family & Children Services were assigned educational assistance and family support services either as wards of the State ‘Care for Children’ team or as extensions of the Lifeskills Services team.

The role of ‘Art Educator’ encompassed many different modes and mediums, following a ‘maker’ pedagogy where the role of the artist was collaborative (all ages), inclusive (all skills and abilities), and diverse (multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary).

As a casual Art Educator with the Shire of Harvey, I was engaged to facilitate short-term, holiday art programs with children in public venues, the Shire of Harvey foyer, and the forecourt of the Australind Shopping center.

This role required precision and attention to detail in the process of reviewing and applying inventory activities, which included Commonwealth banking records movements and deletions.

In an ongoing capacity, my experience as an Out-of-School Care Worker was instrumental in my future choices to work as an educator.

As a clerk at one of the oldest electrical wholesale merchandising stores in Australia, I was responsible for stock management, inventory checks using newly introduced micro-fiche catalogues, ordering new stock, batch processing trades accounts applications, audit, stock take and client account details updating.

In this position I was responsible for managing despatch records, generating picking orders, planning and implementing random fulfillment audits and stock take checks to generate stock orders in the health supplements industry.

The Armidale Ex-services Club of Armidale, NSW Australia was a large organization and entity catering to the local community with many different services such as entertainment, alcohol and meals service, games, social clubs, weddings, and many other large social gatherings.

The fashion retail business is fast and furious with large volumes of stock moving between stores and locations at a frightening pace.

In the college break of February 1988 - April 1989 I worked as a Rigger / Assembler with A & Shelving Pty Ltd which were a small Father & Son team leading the small to medium pallet racking and construction field in the south-west of Sydney Australia.

This position required me to maintain general office administration as a requirement for order fulfillment and to undertake Cardex filing of records of invoice & despatch.

Flemings Pty Ltd was one of the very last ‘old school’ supermarket chains in Sydney, Australia at their heyday in the 1980’s and 1990’s before Woolworths took them all over.
